Vanessa is a self-confessed technology geek who has built a career on the principle that technology’s true value is in helping people achieve their goals. Her journey into Human Resources was driven by a desire to effect real change after observing highly capable people being overlooked or made redundant. She believed that to truly influence retention and help individuals play to their strengths, she needed to be in the room where those decisions were made.
With a diverse background spanning aviation at Qantas, transport at Sydney Trains, and global medical technology at Cochlear, Vanessa has a proven history of delivering transformative HR projects. Her experience includes integrating complex global HR systems and leading digital transformation for the NSW Public Service Commission. These roles taught her a crucial lesson: that while you cannot teach everyone technical skills, you can build powerful teams by empowering individuals to play to their innate strengths.
In her role as Outcomes Director at AbilityMap, Vanessa has found the perfect combination of people and tech. She empowers organisations by helping them understand their strengths and align individuals to roles where they can excel.
